Customized postage stamps, Vanity Postage. Is nothing sacred? Add it to my list of "things to do", design a postage stamp. No thank you. No matter how ugly, I'm still buying mine at the post office. I haven't even grasped the concept that I can buy my stamps at the grocery store.
On the other hand, my husband and one of my best friends are pretty fired up about this possibility. Being designers, they have the ways and the means to do it. This scares me. Don't get me wrong, both are extremely talented, and I don't doubt for a second that the stamps they would produce would be beautiful. What they want to do is put our faces on the stamps. They're serious, they're armed (laptops, scanners, photoshop), and they cannot be convinced to leave well enough alone.
Looks like another product that's going to have to come with a warning label, "view at your own risk".
