It was the last day of 2009, I was exploring Paris with my dear husband, and it had been an amazing day taking in all that is Paris. The planned stops, especially my favorite bakery Poilâne, didn't disappoint, a visit to the courtyard of the Louvre to catch a glimpse of I.M. Pei's glass pyramids, it was a super day.
The simple act of taking to the streets, exploring, with a map, a great app on my iPhone Around Me , an equally curious travel partner and good shoes, will keep me going all day long and brings me incredible joy!
Late in the afternoon we were close to one of the oldest department stores in Paris Le Bon Marche. It's a big store, huge, comprised of a few buildings, and luckily on this New Year's Eve we walked by the entrance to their food store. Food store, hah! There really are no words to describe La Grande Epicerie Paris, so I am sharing through my photos. It leaves my beloved Dallmayr in Munich looking like a Tante Emma Laden.
Presenting La Grande Epicerie Paris, my new first stop, must see, can't miss in Paris.
